Each role is a 1099 contract position with a flexible schedule designed to fit around your existing clinical or career commitments.

EMS Tutor

1099 Contract

Coach EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic students through coursework, NREMT prep, and skills review in one-on-one or small-group settings.

$20.00 / hour Flexible — sessions in 2-hour blocks

Responsibilities

  • Lead focused 2-hour tutoring blocks (in person or virtual)
  • Build study plans aligned to NREMT and Pennsylvania DOH standards
  • Track student progress and report milestones to program coordinators

Qualifications

  • Current EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, or higher certification
  • Strong communication and patient teaching skills
  • Reliable scheduling and professional presentation

EMS Instructor

1099 Contract

Deliver high-quality didactic, lab, and scenario instruction across Phoenix EMS Academy programs, including AHA and NAEMT certifications.

$25.00 / hour Flexible — classroom, lab, and field rotations

Responsibilities

  • Teach scheduled didactic and lab sessions following approved curriculum
  • Evaluate psychomotor skills and document student performance
  • Mentor students and collaborate with the lead program coordinator

Qualifications

  • PA DOH-recognized instructor credential (PAEMSI preferred)
  • AHA Instructor and/or NAEMT credentials a plus
  • Minimum 2 years of field experience at your certification level

EMS Lab Volunteer

Volunteer

Support instructors on lab days by helping set up stations, role-play patient scenarios, and reset equipment between rotations.

Unpaid — service hours documented Lab days — flexible sign-up

Responsibilities

  • Assist with station setup, breakdown, and equipment checks
  • Serve as a simulated patient or scenario actor
  • Help students rehearse skills under instructor supervision

Qualifications

  • Interest in EMS, healthcare, or public safety
  • Dependable, team-oriented, and coachable
  • No prior certification required — training provided
